Black Rock Soundprints

Role: Field recordist, Audio editor, Producer

Black Rock Soundprints is an ongoing series of spontaneous recorded encounters with the aural ecosystem of Burning Man: sound installations, art cars, interactive sculptures, musical performances, and other sonic phenomena. The project began in 2006 and has continued with each visit as a means to reflect on the evolution of Black Rock City through the mind’s eye. The intention is not to tell a specific “Story of Burning Man,” but to shine a light on the millions of individual stories-in-progress that make up the dynamic space we Burners briefly call Home. Black Rock Soundprints has been an officially approved media project since 2016. Below are a few selections from the archive.
